Annual Sexual Assault Awareness Event/Family Fun Event
Every year for Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April, our local Sexual Assault Response Team (representatives from Domestic Violence Program & Sexual Assault Services, Murfreesboro Police Department, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department, Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, District Attorney’s Office) puts on a fun outdoor event right here at our local hospital.
The event is free (donations appreciated) and fun for the entire family! Activities include but are not limited to bouncy houses, rock climbing wall, live music, silent auction, face painting, K-9 police dogs, Mounted Police horses, and delicious food options, of course!
1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men will be sexually assaulted before their 18th birthday. We want our citizens of Rutherford County to be made aware and educated on this appalling statistic so that together we can make progress on decreasing these numbers. This event is to raise awareness of this, provide any wanted information on how you can help, and to have fun together as a community.
For more information contact us at our main office or email our Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator, Kara Mischke, at firstname.lastname@example.org
See you there!
